Finance: Dave Lundberg reported that
we have a checkbook balance of about $46,500. No new reports from
Wayne Ward since the October report. Dave reported his workload
as treasurer has doubled this year without support from Bemidji
Secretarial. Joan Lundberg has been doing a lot of work tracking
members and entering member information into a database. Dave
Chandler will talk to Wayne and see what is holding up the financial
reports. The club’s membership is currently at 320. We still
have four or five ice ads that not been paid for. The balance
on the loan from the city for the roof is actually around $9,000
as opposed to the figure of $5900 we were using. Dave Lundberg
moved, seconded by Chase Jackson, we make a payment of $3,000
on the loan. Motion carried.
Old Business:
- Webpage: Progress is being made and information
is getting updated. Steve Fogelson needs information to be posted
sent to him in electronic form.
- Ojibwe Forest Rally: They have been given
a price for the use of the club but have not gotten back to
us yet.
- Liquor Liability Insurance: Our current
carrier has decided to renew our policy but at a lower rate.
Committee Reports
- Bar:Keith Hunt reported that there were complaints
last week at the Sons of the American Legion Bonspiel about
high canned beer prices.
- Juniors: Randy Westhoff distributed a Junior
Curling budget for the 2007-2008 season. This year’s Curling
Rocks Junior Bonspiel made a small profit of about $400. Dave
Chandler moved, seconded by Randy Westhoff, that any profits
from the bonspiel be transferred to the junior account. Motion
carried. Jamie Quello has agreed to teach a second community
education Sunday evening curling class next year. This year’s
class filled up in a few hours. Randy reported that he would
like to run the Monday afternoon league through community education
next year. No objections were voiced.
- Senior Nationals: No report.
General Manager’s Report:
- The health inspector inspected the club and gave the club
a good review. The only major fault was the exhaust fan in the
ladies restroom needs to be fixed/replaced.
- Lights in the club are being left on. Bob recommended we
get automatic lights for all the restrooms.
- The men’s locker room needs a door on the restroom.
Bob will work on getting a door and having it installed.
- The Thursday leagues need to be better organized. Doug Underthun
volunteered to get rosters from all the teams in each draw.
- The Senior National Bonspiel has 58 teams registered right
now. Dave Chandler moved, seconded by Chase Jackson, that we
pay Bob $1000 for the additional work of getting the ice sheet
next door set up for the bonspiel, if needed. Motion carried.
Next Meeting and Adjournment: The next
meeting will be Tuesday, February 12 at 8:00 p.m.. The meeting
adjourned at 9:35.
Respectfully submitted,
Randy Westhoff |
